HP House Combines Tropical-Modern Style through Materiality
HP House is a tropical-modern house located in Cianjur, West Java. With mountains as it is one of the best potentials, the design adapts to the climate and its natural surroundings.
The design combines modern and tropical styles. Material-wise, the architect utilised the domination of timber, especially ulin timber; and combine it with the use of glasses to have the modern look and an open view of the mountain.
In the first sequence, a view of a green lawn with a pool on the right side of the house will greet you when entering the house. Facing the pool, the main attractive point of this house is a spacious wooden porch deck with a wood ceiling to accommodate outdoor activities for family and friends gathering.
To create the other sequence of a transition between outdoor and indoor elements into the house, a long wooden hallway path unites both areas and creates a smooth transition to the semi-private of living and dining area.
An open plan area consists of a living room, dining room, and pantry, with a master bedroom are on the first floor. The double volume in the living room creates a spacious and high ceiling experience in the house. The rooms are enclosed with transparent and translucent glass, sunlight is shed into the living and bedroom, creating good air circulation and natural light into the house.
